ANSWERS:

1. Is it too late to propose a concurrent session for the 2010 WLMA conference?

Concurrent session proposals will be accepted this spring for next year’s conference. Watch the WLMA listserv and this website for more information and the announcement.

2. What do I need to know as a concurrent session presenter?

The WLMA/WALE annual conference strives to keep costs as low as possible so that districts may send teams of participants. Therefore, presenters will not be financially reimbursed for travel, lodging, presentation preparation, or conference registration fees. All other information will be sent to presenters when their proposals are accepted.

All presenters are expected to register for the conference.

3. Whom do I contact if I want to volunteer for the conference?

For opportunities, see the conference committee member listing on the website and email the person responsible for that area of the conference.

4. How do I register for the conference?

Check the conference website for registration information in May or June.

5. How do I reserve a hotel room for the conference?

Check the Hotels page on the conference website when registration is open.

6. Where is the WLMA/WALE conference?

The conference will be held at the SeaTac Doubletree in SeaTac, Washington.

7. Who are the speakers presenting at the keynote speech, banquets and meals?

Check the Speakers webpage for more information on speakers as they are announced.

8. Where can I find the schedule of concurrent sessions?

The session schedule will be available in September.

9. Where should I park if I am coming to the conference for the day?

Parking will be available in the Doubletree parking lot for a fee.

10. What are my options for eating at the conference.

Information about restaurants will be available over the summer on the conference website.

11. How can I get from Seattle to the conference?

Driving from Seattle to SeaTac takes approximately 30 minutes from downtown Seattle. Follow signs to SeaTac Airport from I-5 North and South.

If you are flying into Seattle, you can take a shuttle or taxi from Sea-Tac Airport to the SeaTac Doubletree Hotel.

12. How can I pay with a purchase order?

Submit your purchase order with your registration form and mail to the address on the form.

13. What does it mean to host a session?

Hosting a session involves helping the presenter with any needs, which may include passing out evaluation forms, managing the capacity of the room, or passing out handouts. It also guarantees you a free seat at the session.

Vendor registration information will be posted on the Exhibits webpage in the spring. Check there for more information.

Third Place books will be the book vender for conference this year. More information will be posted closer to the conference.
